Y7 and 8 Extension Film Festival Movie Storyboarding

Hiii guys. During extension, our class have been planning for our film festival movie! We started off by coming up with some ideas we could do, and then we seperated into groups to storyboard a scene for the movie we chose. We are doing a parody of a pretty well-known song. It’s like a love song so that’s why we’re doing a parody of it. I got to storyboard the first chorus scene. It was pretty heard coming up with ideas, and I still feel like mines was too complicated in a way. I liked drawing it though! Anyways, I hope you guys watch far enough into my scene 🙂 NO SPOILERS!!! Extension – Micro:bit CreateAI

Hey everybody! So today at extension we got to have another go with the Microbits! I was put into a group with 3 others and this time we were using AI to code the Microbits. We were training it so it could tell the difference between shaking it and swinging it, since this term we were focusing on G-force. At first our group was doing spinning V swinging, but we soon later realised that it wouldn’t work because there wasn’t much difference in standing still and spinning since we had to keep the Microbit horizontal.  We used one iMac for the AI software and connecting the Microbit for collecting data. We were using the accelerometer part of the Microbit to track data and movement. This part helped us create this.

I found this really fun and I liked testing them out. The live graphs were different and I learnt how they work. When you move the Microbit on a vertical axis it doesn’t do as much movement as it would on a horizontal axis. In the picture it also shows a bar graph besides our actions to show us how accurate they think it is, or what it thinks we’re doing. We can use this when we’re measuring speed and movement.

One thing that didn’t work out was when the Microbit kept disconnecting from the iMac. Also the spinning and swinging one.

The Dawn Raids – THE INCIDENT… kmf

HIII GUYSS! Okay so today in literacy me, Kyaosi, and Fyaoi recorded this epic video recreating the incident from the book “The dawn raids”. This is the text we have been focusing on, and in the book there are 3 boys who play darts but it ends up horribly wrong.. and this is our recreation. So!!! Mercury & Venus Research VIDEO ! (KMF)

The Solar System & The Sun – Research Task T1

Hi guys! These past 2 weeks, we have been learning and researching on the solar system & the Sun! We researched a bunch and had to gather 10 facts on both the Sun and solar system. Then we had to make a video presenting 6 interesting facts that we found. My partner was Kyaosi! I hope you enjoy the video and learn something new from the facts as well! The night sky glows with a scatter of stars, each one shimmering as if trying to erase the darkness overhead. A soft aurora drapes itself across the sky—gentle greens and purples blending like watercolours, calm and dreamy. The aurora has a gradient, making it one of the most beautiful things ever seen to the bare eye. Below, perched on a snowy mountain, a vibrant coloured tent stands out like a flame in the cold. It’s alone, but not lonely—surrounded by the quiet hum of the night. The wind howls sharp and restless, tapping against the tent in quick, stuttering beats. The whole scene feels still and warm, wrapped in a somewhat quiet nostalgia. The air is cold and clean, drying out my lips as I breathe it in.

My Well-being plan 2025

Kia Ora! Welcome back to my blog! Team 5’s focus this term is: How can we use Te Whare Tapa Whā to understand and improve our overall well-being? Te Whare Tapa Whā is a model that had 4 walls that all contribute to our mental health, which is known as Hauora. For this term we spent the past 10 weeks making up a plan for our well-being, and then make a video on it. This is mine! The 4 walls are known as: Taha Tinana – Physical Well-being, Taha Hinengaro – Mental & Emotional Well-being, Taha Wairua – Spiritual Well-being, and Taha Whānau – Social Well-being. I have used Google vids to help me produce this, and I also recorded at home as I was too busy at school with Fiafia going on. I couldn’t add much graphics and text, sorry.

I really enjoyed making the video and my highlight of doing all of this was writing the script. At first it was a little too long, but then I had to cut out the self care stuff as that is another topic. My lowlight was trying to record my video in a quiet area or an area where it wasn’t giving me a bad quality. (It was still bad quality.) One thing I think I could work on was learning to speak more fluently without all my sighing.
