Number Mastery Challenge – T1 W10

Kia Ora! Welcome back to my blog. This time I have presented to you guys… my maths task for this week! This week we have been learning how to understand and use number patterns + operations. This is my work. In the last slides, it shows my working out! I also explain in here how you can multiply 1000 by any number. (Integer AND decimal)

My highlight while working on this was solving the questions. I enjoy using standard algorithm to help solve my problems. My lowlight while working on this was trying to explain how to multiply any number by 1000. It’s like I know but I don’t know how to explain it to others. Do you also struggle with this problem?

Please leave a positive comment and check out my other blog posts 🙂 Hope you enjoyed and learnt something new from this! Take care, ka kite!

My Well-being plan 2025

Kia Ora! Welcome back to my blog! Team 5’s focus this term is: How can we use Te Whare Tapa Whā to understand and improve our overall well-being? Te Whare Tapa Whā is a model that had 4 walls that all contribute to our mental health, which is known as Hauora. For this term we spent the past 10 weeks making up a plan for our well-being, and then make a video on it. This is mine! The 4 walls are known as: Taha Tinana – Physical Well-being, Taha Hinengaro – Mental & Emotional Well-being, Taha Wairua – Spiritual Well-being, and Taha Whānau – Social Well-being. I have used Google vids to help me produce this, and I also recorded at home as I was too busy at school with Fiafia going on. I couldn’t add much graphics and text, sorry.

I really enjoyed making the video and my highlight of doing all of this was writing the script. At first it was a little too long, but then I had to cut out the self care stuff as that is another topic. My lowlight was trying to record my video in a quiet area or an area where it wasn’t giving me a bad quality. (It was still bad quality.) One thing I think I could work on was learning to speak more fluently without all my sighing.

I hope you enjoy my video! Please leave a positive comment, and check out some of my other posts please 🙂 Thank you! Have a good day/night.

He pai ake te iti i te kore | A little is better than none – ExtensionP (Animation)

Kia Ora! My name is Maraea and this is my extension project for term 1, 2025. Earlier this term we had to find a whakatauki and create an animation on it. My whakatauki I have chosen is ‘He pai ake te iti i te kore” which in English translates to “A little is better than none”. This video has me explaining and showing what this whakatauki means and how we can relate it to real life moments.

My whakatauki means to be grateful for what you have, even if its something small or not so much things. Many people out there get nothing at all, so we need to cherish the things we have.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy my video! Please leave a positive comment and tell me if you’ve experienced any moments relating to this :)!

Rounding Rules

We are learning to round numbers to make data easier to use.

Today, we used Google Drawings to create a Rounding Rules Poster.  We wrote the key steps for rounding and added examples for rounding to the nearest 10, 100, and 1,000. To make our posters engaging, we used colours, images, and number lines to explain the rules clearly.

Term 3 Inquiry movie – Karawhiua

Hello! This is my movie for this term’s theme, “Karawhiua! Never give up.” And for this term, my team had to learn and practice a new skill which mines was juggling. This movie shows my progress on how I learn to kind of juggle.

I have realized I didn’t get to reach my goal because I didn’t practice much and I wasn’t really understanding much tips. I found out what I’ve done wrong but still, this was a really fun journey! I hope you enjoy watching my movie.

Thanks to iMovie, I completed it in time!

Please leave a positive comment and if you want, you can leave feedback <33 BYE!!!!
